Automatic Phosphating Machine
The purpose of the phosphating process of steel material is to produce a surface conversion coating with a thin and compact layer and firmly fixed to the surface to facilitate cold deformation.
Therefore, phosphating, which can be Zn or Mn, is strongly recommended for all surfaces that are to be subjected to severe deformation processes (drawing, molding) after a suitable lubricant coating has been applied to the phosphated surface. It is important that the surface to be phosphated is completely clean, free from oils and greases, metal oxides and residual acids. This is normally guaranteed by preliminary chemical pickling treatments (with H2SO4 or HCl) followed by vigorous washing or mechanical sandblasting.
The phosphating process is usually carried out by immersing the material in a tank containing a hot solution and a residence time depending on the thickness of the desired coating.
Phosphating process is applied in pipe, film, small parts, rod and profile sectors. Based on these factors, the layout and management system is selected (manual, semi-automatic and automatic).
